International EPDM certifications in flat gasket manufacturing

EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) is one of the most widely used materials for manufacturing flat gaskets and O-rings, thanks to its excellent resistance to weathering, ozone and ageing. However, when gaskets are intended for applications in contact with drinking water or food products, the material must meet specific international certifications that guarantee its safety and compatibility.

At Manufactures Cusell we offer a wide range of EPDM grades certified for water and food contact, suited to all kinds of production runs and technical requirements.

EPDM certified for drinking water

For long runs of flat gaskets, we work with EPDM certified to the main European standards, which guarantee the safety of the material in contact with water intended for human consumption:

• KTW (Germany): certifies the suitability of the material for drinking water systems and components that come into contact with water.

• ACS (France): required by the French health authorities, it confirms that the material is compatible with drinking water without altering its taste, odour or composition.

• Belgaqua (Belgium): certification guaranteeing that the material complies with Belgian regulations for hydraulic components.

These certified EPDM grades are ideal for long production runs, where large volumes of gaskets are required with uniform specifications and full traceability.

EPDM with WRAS and FDA certification for short runs

For shorter runs or customised production, we also offer EPDM with WRAS (United Kingdom) and FDA (United States) certification.

• WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme): guarantees that the materials do not release substances that could affect the quality of drinking water.

• FDA (Food and Drug Administration): confirms that the material is suitable for direct contact with food, beverages and pharmaceutical products.

EPDM and silicone O-rings for food use

As well as flat gaskets, we manufacture EPDM and silicone O-rings certified for food and pharmaceutical applications, ideal for beverage machinery, dispensers, valves and filling systems.

Both materials offer excellent resistance to extreme temperatures and chemicals, providing perfect sealing and a long service life even under intensive use.
